Of course certain races prefer certain Islands over others. Each Races has certain traits that make them different from the other I.E. Vampires need blood to survive.
Well I'll stop waffling on now. The races are in alphabetical order to make it easier, and any special notes can be found with the race info. Any races not mentioned on the list that you wish to create MUST be checked with a member of staff before you create the bio on the site, and the race must be explained so it can be added to the list.
Mythical creatures such as Gryphon's and dragons do exist here and they are playable characters providing you ask a member of staff nicely.
As with all things on this site you only have to ask a member of staff for help and we shall. In this case if there is something that you want to know/notice should be on the race info but isn't, then tell one of us and well shall do our best to correct it and/or help you understand the race better.
In order of listing: Abyssian, Angel, Asrai, Demon, Elf, Ghost, Gnoll, Halfling/Halfbreed, Human, Imp, Lycanthorpe/Were-animal, Troll & Vampire. Letters A - N are on page one, letters O - Z are on page two.
Sub races for marked * races will come later, whether through event where members can create them or through staff they will appear. Races with (*?) have a possibility to gain sub-races later on. Again if you can think of a sub race for one that doesn't have an * after the name then why not throw the idea at a staff member?

Abyssian
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: Abyssians are a sea faring race by nature, most are content to stick to trading and they have become somewhat infamous for it, going between islands and different races to make a living. If you need something or someone transported over water and a boat isn't an option, an Abyssian needing to make a little cash is the next best thing.
Traits: Abyssians tend to very between one member of the race to another, but for the most part they look like large humanoid crustaceans. Abyssians stand around 5 to 8 feet tall on average, though older members of the species can become larger. They have only two insect like legs that lead up to a rather human like hips and upper body, though they tend to resemble walking suits of armor do to their shelled bodies. It is not abnormal to see a few that have pincers instead of a hand, leaving the other human like and able to manipulate objects. Though rare, sometimes an Abyssian develops a claw on both arms, leaving them a little handicapped. In addition to their main arms, some Abyssians have a secondary pair, thinner and on average weaker then a human's arm. This pair are for delicate work or at times to make up for the main arms only having pincers, these sub-arms are always humanoid and never grow claws. Their heads are for the most part human looking, having top and bottom jaws with teeth set in the jaws as well as a small set of mandibles growing out of their cheeks. The eyes look human at a glance, though they have a thin glass like covering, similar to a pair of goggles, this means they have no need for eyelids and as such as unable to blink. Females tend to look much like the males, though their shells have curves similar to those found on a human woman.
Many Abyssians are just fine using their hard bodies and strong limbs alone, though both breeds are just as able to use magic. Abyssians tend to have the cooler forms of magic, dealing with the wind and the water or the other elements that are involved with the sea.
Oceanic: Broken up into two breeds, the Oceanic Abyssians are larger, crab like with shell colorations that vary between red and blue. They tend to be on the taller end of the scale with larger bodies, thicker shells and larger claws. They prefer staying in and around the ocean, often setting up shop on docks around the known world to try and drum up some business.
Inland: Slightly more rare then their ocean loving brothers and sisters, there exists an inland species of Abyissian. The Inland's shells tend to be either brown, red, green or blue in color. These are smaller, being more along the lines of a human in size and strength. While the ocean based Abyssians take after crabs, the ones who enjoy rivers and lakes tend to be leaner, thinner and take the form of lobsters or shrimp. They sometimes go into villages or cities to try and find work, but more often then not they like to keep to themselves. Due to their smaller size, the inland Abyssians tend to be more interested in magic or magical items and some members of this sub-species can be quite powerful at tossing around a spell or three.
Maximum age known: The oldest member of this race died at near 1000 years in age and while most do not live that long, it is considered possible.

Overall personality of the race: As a race the Abyssians like to stay out of fights, though their rather beast like appearance may hint of violence, the race only has interest in trading. However, they do not discriminate who their buyers or sellers are and will accept coins from a demon or angel without any problem at all. They will only fight to defend themselves or those close to them, otherwise they will keep out of any and all conflicts that happen around them. Of course not all think this way as some Abyssians have broken off from their people to join Heaven or hell. Those that do are looked down on by the majority of their kind, seeing as given in and taking sides as weak for breaking their hardwired views against what they see as senseless fighting. When not trying to trade or sell something, an Abyssian is a rather friendly fellow, more then likely to offer to buy you a round at the local pub and ask to hear your stories of travel.
Natural enemies: As a fellow water dwelling race, the Abyssians are no strangers to the Asrai, though when the two races first met there was a misunderstanding over how the Asrai act towards males. The short hostility between them, while largely harmless, has left the Abyssians with a heavy distrust of the water spirits. Other then this slight altercation, the race as a whole strains hard to stay out of the fighting of others.
Can you become this race in any way? Must be born as one.
Angels
So, like most the races here in Outcasts there are 'subclasses' of the race in general. Below you will see the Heavenly information as normal text, the info on the Hellish Angels shall be in italics and slightly darker color
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: Angels as you should already know are the warriors, messengers and guardians of the gods. In the world of Outcasts they are all three, but there are only two levels of angels. The good and the bad.
Heavenly: The Heavenly angels are loyal to the God & Goddesses; they will give their lives to serve them and that includes their children in the world of Outcasts. These angels are welcome everywhere in the world and after-world, baring the after-world plain where Angels alone passover too.
Hellish: These are theangels that have been banished from heaven and striped of their heavenly powers. They refused to follow all of their orders, be it kill a god that was threatening the balance or to lower themselves to the level of the outcasts. Often they will 'crash and burn' forcing their bodies through the pain of hell to serve the darker Gods & Goddess's.
Traits: All angels are bound to their Master/mistress, they give the angel immortality by giving the angel a item of power. This item gives the God/Goddess power over said angel. All angels draw power from their master/mistress but make no mistake all angels have their own unique power that stays with them until they die. All pure blood angels only have solid colored wings. This means no pure blooded angel can have two-toned wings or plumes.
Heavenly: These angels quite often have a stronger link with the cooler elements and start off with a higher level than normal beings (Level 3 at max). Pure blooded angels that are among the ranks of the Heavenly ranks have pure light colored wings. This means any bright color from blue to pink in a soft tone is allowed among the heavenly ranks. Of course White is the most common.
Hellish: These angels were once part of the Heavenly ranks (of course some have been apart of the Hellish horde longer than others), because of this those angel of pure blood can only have solid colored wings and they also can start with slightly higher skill in the warmer elements. Bright colors are very very rare within these banished angels, but like their Heavenly brothers and sisters the softer tones of the colors are common, with the longer serving angels having darker colored wings.
Maximum age known: For both classes of angel the maximum age is dependent on their master/mistress. The Gods/Goddess are what makes the Angels Immortal but the maximum age for a mortal angel is 50,000 years.

Overall personality of the race:
Heavenly: Generally seen as the kinder & goos ones of the races they are still warriors and it is hard to miss this fact, even when they are only acting as messengers. It is wise not to forget that these beautiful beings are warriors and always armed.
Hellish: The nasty ones in the world, even though they are angels people seem to forget and label them as evil. They can live up to their reputation and are sometime mistaken for angel winged demons.
Natural enemies:
Heavenly: Any race tied with hell, Hellish angels, all races of demons, vampires & darker of the elves/drow.
Hellish: They aren't natural enemies with any other than their Heavenly kin, they think the heavenly ranks stupid and sheepish for lowering themselves to walking with the other races.
Can your character become this race in any way?
Heavenly: Any demon or Hellish angel may approach a God or Goddess under escort and ask for a series of trials to test their worth. These trials will be played throughout 2+ threads, when the trails have been completed staff that played the role of NPC's will discuss with other staff and decide if your character will become a Heavenly angel.
Hellish: Only one of the Heavenly angels can become a Hellish angel. This is through disrespecting a direct order from a God or Goddess, and this only requires a thread in order for the details to be clear on how your angel has 'fallen'.
The number of threads stated above is only the minimum and if more is what you would prefer to do then staff included would be glad to RP with you, just understand that we may have quite a few threads to reply to just as you most likely would.
Asrai - water spirits
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: Young maidens with stunning beauty and slightly webbed hands and/or feet. Basically water Fairies/Fae. May be classed as Sidhe that live in the water. Every Asrai is born with a natural control over water.
Traits: Beautiful enough to stop any male in his tracks, including angels. Webbed feet and/or hands are seen on some but are very common in all. Every Asrai has either webbed hand or feet, but all the membranes are nearly transparent holding a slight hue of the skin tone.
They vary in size from 2 ft - 6ft and only gender is Female. (Asexual race) and if an Asrai is caught or even touches sunlight they will die and melt into a pool of water. They can bleed to death and will only turn to a pool of water at the touch of pure sunlight. Also although it is rare their touch can leave skin (where they made contact) forever cool; never able to be as heated as the rest of the body. Asrai are able to harbor any element but the favorably is cool elements.
Maximum age known: 400 is the oldest Asrai known, but they could very well live to 700 - 900 years. It is not clear given their 'shyness'.
How common is this race? Common in the amount of them, but uncommon in the amount seen.
Extra info
Overall personality of the race: Seen as the shyest of the races they are well known to avoid males at all costs, they are of course nocturnal and are told as being lovers of song and the natural music of water. Being neutral means that Asrai hold no favoritism as a race toward Heaven or Hell and do not care about the disappearance of kings and queens as they have they see everyone as equals. Of course individuals may choice one side or the other.
Natural enemies: Males in general and beings of hell are of strong dislike because of their closeness to the warmer elements.
Can your character become this race in any way? No, your character is either a Asrai or not.

They are easily known and take no second glance in order for anyone to know that they are Demons. They hold a dark Aura and have a knack for making people uneasy, this makes them great law enforcers, but their demons so torture is more up their street. Even demons need to earn some form of currency so they often offer their services to the highest payer. Winged demons ~ Winged demons is just another name for hellish angels to most, but in fact it is the name for creatures that have been tainted by powerful demons and demons born with only wings. These demons are known for their intricate patterns that show themselves on their wings (except hellish angels) and the darker colored wings to that of every other winged race.Un-winged demons ~ Like their brothers and sisters the Un-winged demons work within the Islands to earn money. What makes these Demons different is the fact that they used to have wings, but the wings were either cut or pulled from the beings back, leaving scars or stubs where the wings used to be. the other method is that a high ranking demon forced the wings into the body leaving a very detail tattoo where the wings would be if folded.[/i] Traits: All born demons can have up to level 3 in the warmer elements. Normal ~ Often if they have wings, the wings are undersized but because of the magic that normal demons posses from birth they can still use these wings. Pattens aren't too common with normal demons on wings, but engravings on horns are very common. These demons are the worst at taking a human form, but have the most impressive 'true form'. Winged demons ~ Winged demons often only have wings which are easily large enough to allow flight, and are very often not adorned with the other characteristics that allow Demons to be known by everyone. The most common wing type for born demons is the typical Dragon wing. Winged races have their wings darkened by the new demon powers flowing through their veins. Winged demons are able to easily shift and have some are able to look completely human by folding their wings into their body.Un-winged demons ~ Un-winged demons love to show themselves as being better at looking human without trying. Elves*
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: Elves are the protectors of the world, they only fight and kill if they have to. They will help any that show respect for the world and pass knowledge of the world down to the younger in the world.
Traits: Light long colored hair and pointed ears are a feature that every elf has. The thing the race as a whole is known for is their knowledge and love of the world. They often have animal companions but they live deep within the forests.
Maximum age known: 3000 years is common, they can live for longer.
How common is this race? Very Common, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Unique (legendary & Unique available only through gifts, paying & events)
Extra info
Overall personality of the race: Nature and peace lovers are what the Elves are dubbed. They don't like killing but will. Any weapons they create are beautiful but effective. Elves are a neutral race favoring the lighter side of the scale.
Natural enemies: Trolls and Imps are the only natural enemies of the Elves, and those who disrespect the world are disliked by Elves.
Can you become this race in any way? No.

Ghosts
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: Ghosts are the souls of the dead that haven't passed on because they seek revenge or have something to finish. They are also the messengers of the gods when it is too dangerous for Angels.
Traits: Ghosts have no solid form but they can make themselves look solid enough to fool those you can see them. Most races can see them but unless the Ghost wishes to be seen in a form the races only see a 'cloud'.
Maximum age known: Immortal
How common is this race?Very Common, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Unique (legendary & Unique available only through gifts, paying & events)
Extra info
Overall personality of the race: Most Ghosts have something to finish, be it kill their killer or protect someone they swore an oath too. Nearly all Ghosts are serious in nature and are Neutral as a race.
Natural enemies: Ghosts dislike the powerful being of both Heaven & Hell as they have the power to drag their souls the their realms, even if the soul doesn't belong.
Can you become this race in any way? Yes, if your character dies and you want to continue Rp'ing with them then please PM a staff member preferably me saying why your character should become a Ghost. Staff will then discuss and decide if your character becomes a Ghost.
Gnoll
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: Beings of somewhat low intelligence, manners and general decency means that this race is seen as the lowest form by most. Gnolls normally follow who ever can prove themselves stronger than the Gnoll.
Traits: Terrible sense of personal hygiene, habit of licking swords mostly for that metallic taste. Gnolls are also known as a race to favor flesh of something 'exotic' most commonly this means something other than prey animals and humans, heck if they found a God or Goddess asleep they would even try to eat them. So yes cannibalism isn't out of the question.
Maximum age known: 124 years

Food, Fight & F***, they have kept alive this long because they follow the three F's. Gnolls have no sense of loyalty and will change who they follow on a regular basis, one thing you can depend on a Gnoll to be is territorial. Natural enemies: All races dislike Gnolls as they have no sense of anything and follow who ever proves themselves stronger than the Gnoll, meaning that Natural enemies could be counted as all races. They are as a race Neutral because they lack the ability to be knowing evil or good, as Gnolls have been seen along side Angel & Demons. Halflings/halfbreeds
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: Half-breeds/Halflings are known for being the Outcasts of life and are shunned upon by all but the Hellish court. Here the misfits have earned roles not much different from the roles of any other race. Barkeeps, Lords, Queens, Half-breeds can be them all, or course the higher ranking places are harder to achieve for them.
Traits: Some Half-breeds/Halflings aren't easily recognizable just by appearance alone as they look like their parents, and as most races have a very human like form the offspring can appear human. Others look like monsters taking on aspects of their parents from wings to horns, and sometimes scales as deformities aren't impossible with the mixture of genes.
Maximum age known: 560 years
How common is this race? Very Common, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Unique (legendary & Unique available only through gifts, paying & events)

Overall personality of the race: Half-breeds/Halflings are known for their pride and love of the warmer elements. As a race they are considered evil as only Hell will accept the race fully, of course a few try to live like any other race.
Natural enemies: Half-breeds/Halflings don't like any races as a whole and most races do not like them.

Humans
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: Humans have a vareity of jobs and roles within the world; some work in the lowest professions, other rank as Kings. They are known for being verastile and adaptable, if not always the most intelligent of species and can be found in any location.
Traits: Humans live together in large groups and are very social, relying on other people to thrive. Humans are known for their scribes, prophets, and their vibrant idealism. They have no natural weapons (no claws or such other traits), and do not often have strong magics. As a whole, they rarely grow more than six feet tall, though there are exceptions.
Maximum age known: 114

They are not fond of those that have a different appearance than themselves, as they are instinctively wary of the more powerful races. Imps
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: Imps are the pawns and foot soldiers for demons and when it comes to battles they are the cannon fodder. They don't spend much time in crowded areas and give every one something they can agree on... in a way Imps are the glue holding the world together.
Traits: Imps are tiny creatures, standing at most 4ft in height. Imps are well known for their horns and tail, every Imp has a pair of horns and at least one tail, these are often the only things along with height that allow the other races to know they are Imps. The color & texture of their skin is not limited making Imps one of the most amazing Races.
Maximum age known: 579

Lycanthrope/Wereanimal 'Pure Blooded' Lycanthrope/Were animals will be in standard text, Haunts will be in a darker color than 'pure bloods' & turned. Also Haunts will be in normal text.Turned will be in Italics and a lighter color
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for:
'Pure Blooded' - The Lycanthorpes/Were animals are not overall known as they blend in very well whilst in their Human form. Pure Bloods' often try to obtain places of power within a society but never royalty, most common job for 'pure bloods' is high ranking guard.
Haunts- Haunts are not well known, except by those who deal or live in the underworld. Most operate as assassins or mercenaries and usually function in a leader capacity. In myth, they are known for devouring people on the night when the moon doesn't shine.
Turned - Those that are turned are like the 'Pure bloods' & Haunts, not easily known and within society their roles don't scream "Look at me I'm a were-animal!" This means that the turned hold a variety of positions and roles within the world, from children to the odd ruler.
Traits:
'Pure Blooded' - 'Pure Bloods' have more forms than Haunts and the Turned, the number of forms for the pure bloods is three, Human, Crinos(were form) and their true animal form. the coloration of the Crinos & true form are similar and all natural colors, but patterns on the fur has been seen. The change of forms is painful but bearable if not overused. Their human is just that, human. This makes them hard the tell apart from humans in appearance.
Haunts - The animal (in other words, the natural one) form of each Haunt is very similar; larger than wolves, with thick, black fur. They have red eyes - usually a bright, vibrant red, but darker shades are not entirely uncommon. Their saliva has corrosive/acidic properties, but they can "turn off" the acidity if necessary; teeth and claws are as sharp as knives. Their other form can either look Elven or Human, depending upon their family; when in this form, the only sign that they are Haunts is their red eye color. Some Haunts are able to, in their other form, change the colour of their eyes along side this, some Haunts may have innate abilities, but is it very rare.
Turned - the Turned are no different in appearance to Humans, but their other forms are slightly different and cause more pain when shifting, the pain causes the turned to be in a weakened state for some time after the change. Only those who hunt or live with both 'Pure Bloods' and the turned would be able to tell the differences, even then it would be a hard job. Of course 'Pure Bloods' can see these differences clearly, the muzzle in both forms are shorter than they should be and claws dull almost blunt. Other than those slight differences nothing appearance wise differs between the turned and 'Pure Bloods'.
Maximum age known:
'Pure Blooded' - 600 is the maximum, but average is 300 - 400 years.
Haunts - 1000, but 600-800 is much more common.
Turned - 400 years, but 200- 350 is average.

Overall personality of the race:
'Pure Blooded' - 'pure bloods' see themselves as above both the Haunts and the Turned, this is why they have adopted the name Pure Bloods. As a whole the race is neutral but strays more toward the darker end of the scale. They have earned the reputation for being bloodthirsty and cold hearted.
Haunts - They are generally neutral and stay out of the world's politics; Haunts are usually family-centered and live in "packs". They don't like outsiders, but will be polite to their guests, and will defend them if they deem it important. Recently, Haunts have began to act in a crueler manner.
Turned - The turned are truly neutral as a whole, but like any race groups have split off to follow the Heavenly & Hellish courts. The turned are a warm hearted race and welcome those that show respect into their lives. Being turned seems to have changed their previous personality.
Natural enemies:
'Pure Blooded' - Vampires are number one on the enemy list and the pure bloods when given a chance will try to kill vampires. Lower down on the list for some are the turned, seeing them as impure.
Haunts - They distrust vampires more than any other species, but also dislike Gnolls and Trolls, mainly because they believe them to be less intelligent.
Turned - Like the pure bloods and the Haunts vampires are on the dislike list and will be avoided at almost any cost.
Can you become this race in any way?
'Pure Blooded' - Nope
Haunts - Nope
Turned - Any race other than Vampire, Pure blood & Haunts can be turned, although the chance of making it through the process favors humans. Other races are put through more pain and a greater chance to die before the process is complete, of course if they don't die there isn't any certainty that they are turned.

Malice (Fire Spirit)
Overall information on the race
What they are best known for: A demonic form of a spirit being. Born of hatred and fire, they have no need for food and certainly no need for fluids. They feed of the hatred and violence of others to make themselves stronger. They are always born with the element of fire and fear ice and water. They thrive in the hell realm but have been known to venture outside this realm.
Traits: Shrouded in fire these being sometimes have tails and short wings. They are usually small 2-3ft and plump. Some can’t even use their wings due to their wing size to body ratio instead they often get about doing a vulture like hop. A Malice is a true pyromaniacs, they love nothing more than to set fire to things without any reason if a group of them get together they are capable of causing an explosion. Malice are asexual there are rumours of how they came about and it is strongly believed they used to be Asrai twisted by evil to become the opposite of what they once were hence they are occasionally referred to as the Asrai of hell. Others believe they are the damned souls of humans sent to hell.
Maximum age known: No one has been able to confirm their age, rumours are they are the souls of humans sent to hell while others believe they used to be Asrai. Some have served under demons and reached ages of up to 370. No one has seen a Malice die, they are likely to know when their “extinguish time” is dawning and take themselves off somewhere private for this to happen.
How common is this race? Common in the realm of hell but uncommon in places of cold temperatures or wet conditions. They congregate around locations where there has been pain, death or great hatred due to their unique way of gaining subsistence.

Overall personality of the race: Seen as the vultures of the spirit world, they are not shy to come out at times of war or even better at where there is an aftermath of war. They could not care for the demise of the kings of queens but if this mean more pain and hatred in the world they would certainly support it. They are bolshie and rude and will only allow to be befriended if there is something in it for them. If a being looks likely to cause hurt to others they will sometimes follow at a distance to feed off the anger and hate.
Natural enemies: True Asrai are avoided due to the water which surrounds them. Other races such as Angels are also not liked by Malice. Malice can be their own enemy at times, when feeding on hatred they can get carried away and self explode, often mistaken in war times as an explosion made by the other side.
Can your character become this race in any way? Rumour has it a Malice is a Asrai infected by a great evil to produce an opposite of their race. Others believe they are human souls bound to the hell realm.
