Red Island like all of the islands deserves it's name, different shades of red are natural here with hints of dark purples and black to give some slight variation to the land. As you would expect the native animals hold red hues to their coats.
The island itself is dominated by the grassland and the Forest. The grassland holding most of the Island in it's lush embrace, the forest covers the north of the island and the grass land claims the rest.
With the river flowing from the est of the forest it splits at the heart of the forest, the main part carries on south, through the island. It splits up about half a mile from the forest to branch off like the veins in a leaf, one vein bigger than the rest. Its this large 'vein' that flows through the city at the heart of the island and carries on to the south beach.
Those smaller veins become small lakes (3 lakes, north east, east & west) that villages uses to fish and supply safe water for the people within the villages. Some of the veins flow back into the sea that separates Red Islands from it's twinned group of Islands (Azures Islands).
From the city it is a 3 day walk to the only port to the south. This is the only way on and off the Island unless you can travel by air or your element. Everyone comes here off the only sea worthy ships able to travel between the islands. Small coastal villages have their own boats but they are simple fishing vessels for coastal fishing.
Although it has been said that once you leave the purple seas you are no longer protected by the Island itself. It's said that the empresses own ship was saved from sinking and any ship bearing loyal Red Island inhabitants will be safe. Maybe it's sea beast connected to the Island? Maybe it's Red Island's own god?
If requested a image of Red Island and it's surrounding seas will be made.
